It's Valentine's Day in Smurf Village. PAPA SMURF and SMURFWILLOW stand on the announcement mushroom, boys and girls alike crowded around. (The Smurfs are wearing their winter outfits.)

She turns to address the crowd.

Smurfwillow smirks at Papa Smurf, and pulls out a small bouquet of orange flowers- FIREBLOSSOMS. They glow slightly.

If it's possible for Papa to be seen blushing, he does so (the beard might cover it). If not, he just looks shy and embarrassed as he accepts Smurfwillow's gift.

Awkward silence for a bit.

Papa Smurf chuckles.

A scene of Dopey and Begonia.

Dopey holds out a bundle of weeds and dead plants.

BAKER SMURF and GREEDY SMURF are busy making Valentine's Day goodies.

Baker Smurf looks over to the WINDOW, where MILLER SMURF is standing.

Baker looking away is an opportunity for Greedy, who eats some of the goodies.

Baker turns around towards Greedy.

He smacks Greedy's knuckles with a wooden spoon.

We see SMURFETTE.

He fiddles with the card a bit, before pulling another, slightly smaller Valentine's Day card from behind it.

Smurfette takes it.

Before she can say anything else, Clumsy spots Brainy and starts WAVING.

Clumsy RUNS OFF without taking Smurfette's valentine. She stares, befuddled.

Brainy Smurf is holding a BOOK, the cover of which is dotted with hearts (and a drawing of Brainy's face.)

In runs CLUMSY SMURF.

He holds out the Valentine. Brainy takes it.

It's a misshapen pink paper heart covered in messy cursive and ink splotches. The words are loving, but not very well-written- something like "YOUR MY BESTEST FREIND" (sic) or "CLUMSY SMURF + BRAINY SMURF FRENDS FOR EVER" (sic). It must have the word "friend" on it, and "friend" must be misspelled in some way.

The two Smurfs just stare at each other for a few seconds, then...

SNAPPY BUG peeks out from under Brainy's hat. Brainy appears to be wearing multiple layers of hats, as there's another layer of white underneath Snappy Bug.

He holds out the book.

Clumsy takes the book.

Clumsy SQUINTS at the cover, holding the book so close to his face that his nose touches the picture of Brainy on the cover.

Clumsy pulls his face away from the book and smiles at Brainy.

Enter SMURFCLOVER with a LARGE, FANCY BOUQUET. She shoves Brainy aside, knocking him over into the snow.

Smurfclover ignores him, holding out her bouquet to Clumsy.

Clumsy shifts the book to one hand, and takes the bouquet with the other.

He frowns.

Brainy is now STANDING BACK UP.

She tucks a lock of hair back, shyly looking away.

Brainy rolls his eyes, causing Smurfclover to glare at him. Clumsy remains oblivious to this interaction.

He shoves her aside, the same way she shoved him aside, to get to Clumsy.

Brainy places a hand on Clumsy's shoulder.

Who pouts.

Smurfclover BLUSHES.

He grabs Clumsy by the wrist- the wrist of the hand holding the bouquet- and DRAGS him away. Like, literally drags him, Clumsy is not moving his feet.

Smurfclover stares, incredulous, at the two Smurfs.

Clumsy WAVES GOODBYE to her.

Who narrows his eyes.

BRAINY SMURF and CLUMSY SMURF are visiting Smurfy Grove. There are many girls around, but most notably SMURFSTORM, who's watching the two boys with a neutral expression.

SMURFCLOVER leans on a balcony, excited.

She FANS HERSELF (SFX?) with her hand.

Smurfclover jumps up onto the railing, and grabs a nearby vine. Then she LEAPS -- SWINGS from the vine -- and LETS GO.

She LANDS (SFX) in front of the village Smurfs, causing Clumsy and Brainy to react with surprise- Brainy yelps and LEAPS INTO SMURFSTORM'S ARMS.

Smurfstorm has an unamused expression on her face. She promptly DROPS Brainy.

Smurfclover BLUSHES, covering her face with her hands.

She tries to compose herself, smoothing out her dress and standing up straight.

Clumsy smiles.

Smurfclover grins.

His arms are crossed and he looks annoyed.

As usual, Clumsy Smurf completely misses the bitterness in Brainy's voice.

As they begin to walk away, Clumsy looks up at the precarious Grove, and then back at Smurfclover. He doesn't feel the setting of the Grove is very safe for him.

Smurfclover BLUSHES.

Clumsy takes Smurfclover's hand in his. She freezes, a squiggly smile appearing on her still-blushing face.

Smurfclover and Clumsy walk in from O.S.

She lifts a dumbbell with one hand, which takes a considerable amount of effort.

She puts the weight down and FLEXES. Clumsy giggles.

Clumsy uses two hands and effortlessly LIFTS THE DUMBBELL OVER HIS HEAD. He stands there triumphantly for several seconds...

Then he wobbles and falls over, DROPPING the dumbbell. It lands (SFX) on Smurfclover's foot.

Smurfclover and Clumsy Smurf sit at a small table in Petal's Café. (This area is essentially the Smurfy Grove version of the dining hall. It's prettier, there are little flower vases on the tables, and there's nice lighting.)

Smurfclover rests a hand on top of one of Clumsy's hands.

He smiles.

Clumsy blinks several times. What a weird question!

We see the sun high in the sky above Smurfy Grove.

Brainy stands in the square, looking annoyed. Snappy Bug rests on his shoulder.

Brainy begins pacing back and forth.

Just then, a loud TRUMPETFLOWER CALL is heard.

A-ha! An idea! Brainy's eyes light up as he points one finger declaratively into the air.

Brainy runs offscreen, following Smurfblossom. Snappy Bug flies behind him.

Smurfclover and Clumsy are chatting when the door SLAMS open.

It's Smurfblossom, who skips in with a grin.

She takes a seat, leaning with her elbows on the table to holler at SMURFKAKO.

The door SLAMS open again, interrupting Smurfkako. Brainy walks in, Snappy Bug buzzing behind him.

He marches over to Clumsy and Smurfclover's table.

Clumsy looks sheepish.

He stands up.

The girls in the background watch the argument.

Clumsy STANDS UP.

Smurfclover and Brainy Smurf FALL SILENT and stare at him.

With that, he STORMS OUT, slamming the door behind him.

Various BACKGROUND GIRLS let out exclamations of shock and bafflement. "Oh my gosh!" "What was that all about?" "What a mess!" and more.

Clumsy makes his way to the dragonfly stables, holding tightly to the bridge's handrail.

As he "enters" the open-air stables, shift the angle so we see that he's walking past SMURFMEADOW, who's sitting in the corner and eating a sandwich.

Clumsy Smurf YELPS and falls backwards, landing on his butt. That's when he sees Smurfmeadow.

Smurfmeadow holds up her sandwich.

Clumsy realizes something. He sits up straighter, eyes wide.

She takes a bite of her sandwich, chews, and swallows.

Clumsy claps his hands, looking amazed.

Smurfmeadow smiles.

Clumsy pouts, crossing his arms.

Clumsy Smurf STANDS UP.

She takes another bite of her sandwich.

The day is coming to an end, and the village Smurfs are heading home. But before they leave, Smurfclover walks over to them. Specifically, over to Clumsy.

Smurfclover is DELIGHTED. She perceives this as Clumsy asking her out.

The sun has set, and the path is lit by glowing flowers and fireflies. BRAINY and CLUMSY head home.

He rubs his hands together and grins deviously.

Brainy looks guilty.

Brainy smiles sheepishly.

For less than a second, we briefly see SCRUPLE sleeping in his bed.

Then, GARGAMEL unceremoniously YANKS the covers off, sending Scruple tumbling to the floor.

Gargamel grabs a broom and SHOVES it into Scruple's hands.

Scruple looks at the camera.

Brainy Smurf is waiting impatiently. Snappy Bug rests on his wrist, and he keeps looking at her in the same way someone would check a watch.

Clumsy sits on the ground happily. Goofy smile on his face.

Their conversation is interrupted by BUZZING WINGS (SFX) FROM ABOVE. It's SMURFLILY and SMURFCLOVER, riding on Smurflily's DRAGONFLY.

Smurflily lands the dragonfly, and Smurfclover dismounts.

Smurfclover looks over at Brainy.

Clumsy smiles sheepishly.

Brainy Smurf smirks at Smurfclover while saying:

Clumsy Smurf looks surprised and happy at Brainy's words- Brainy rarely ever tells Clumsy "thank you." (Brainy is only saying it now in order to emphasize their friendship's strength to Smurfclover, but of course Clumsy doesn't know that.)

Smurflily is watching the conversation, and decides it's time to leave.

Smurfclover, Clumsy Smurf, and Brainy Smurf are walking through the forest together. It's currently the part of winter where the snow is starting to melt, so while there's snow in the background, the three Smurfs can make their way through the forest pretty much unimpeded.

Smurfclover is trying very hard to ignore Brainy.

Smurfclover and Brainy Smurf stop walking to argue. Clumsy stops as well.

Clumsy looks confused.

Gargamel time! Gargamel's hands reach around the Smurfs and grab them. (Both hands at once- like how Peewit held the Smurfs in The Black Hellebore.)

The Smurfs look tiny in Gargamel's hands.

Gargamel turns to look at Scruple.

Gargamel and Scruple continue to argue in the background, slightly muffled.

Brainy looks down at Gargamel's hand, thinking. He briefly sticks out his tongue in disgust.

Then he looks up- just with his eyes, he doesn't move his head.

Brainy shakes his head at them, then looks up again (still just with his eyes, no head movement.)

Snappy Bug peeks out from under his hat.

Smurfclover looks surprised- she didn't know Snappy Bug was there. Clumsy Smurf just looks confused, not knowing why Brainy is calling Snappy Bug out.

Azrael has noticed Snappy Bug.

Who sits down, and gestures towards the Smurfs and Snappy Bug.

Snappy Bug lands on Gargamel's hand. She tilts her head back, exposing her mouth.

Then she CHOMPS down.

Gargamel yells in pain and LETS GO OF THE SMURFS, who fall to the ground. They start running away.

Brainy is the fastest runner, with Snappy Bug flying alongside him; Clumsy is stumbling a bit behind; and Clover is having difficulty keeping up.

In the background, Scruple and Azrael are heard LAUGHING.

Clumsy looks behind him.

Who's having a really hard time keeping up with the boys. She's panting heavily.

Who's still chasing after Smurfclover.

Clumsy TURNS AROUND and RUNS OFF SCREEN.

Brainy FOLLOWS Clumsy.

Clumsy ENTERS SHOT, running towards Smurfclover, intending to grab her hand.

Instead, he BUMPS INTO HER, sending them both tumbling to the ground. Smurfclover lands on her rear, and Clumsy lands on his stomach- think that one scene from Clumsy In Command where Clumsy bumps into Brainy in a similar manner.

Azrael ENTERS SCENE, looming above the two Smurfs threateningly.

Brainy STOPS IN HIS TRACKS (SFX) and looks on in fear. Snappy Bug makes a similar expression next to him.

Azrael licks his lips and leans in, OPENING HIS MOUTH.

Smurfclover grabs a handful of snow from the ground between her legs, and TOSSES it up into Azrael's mouth.

Who starts COUGHING (SFX), choking on the snowball.

While Azrael is choking, Brainy ENTERS SCENE.

Brainy GRABS CLUMSY AND SMURFCLOVER and DRAGS THEM OFFSCREEN.

Smurfclover, Clumsy, and Brainy are back in the village, catching their breath. Snappy Bug hovers alongside them.

Clumsy is in the middle, with Smurfclover and Brainy on either side of him.

Clumsy looks dismayed. He feels bad about missing her hints.

Smurfclover looks confused. She thought she had been perfectly clear about it being a date.

Who looks at the camera with a deadpan expression, finally realizing how ridiculous Clumsy is. That doesn't get rid of her crush on him, though.

Smurfclover looks disappointed.

Smurfclover leans in and KISSES CLUMSY ON THE CHEEK.

Clumsy BLUSHES and gently touches the spot on his cheek where she kissed him.

Not one to be upstaged, Brainy Smurf leans in and KISSES CLUMSY ON THE OTHER CHEEK.

Clumsy STUMBLES BACKWARDS, away from the camera. He TRIPS, and falls onto his back.

Brainy SMIRKS.

Snappy Bug LAUGHS.
